I’m looking for an in-person ghostwriter/thought buddy to join my team full-time.

You’ll spend a lot of time with hanging out and walking around, to capture ideas, refine ideas, and then go away to write these ideas up on your own so that we can distribute these ideas across multiple platforms. Think of it as being a professional thought-partner, content creator, and idea magnifier and ghostwriter, all rolled into one.

This is an in-person position based in Hong Kong, ideally for someone who’s already based here. This role is perfect for someone who loves good conversations, has a talent for asking good questions, and knows how to transform conversations into powerful written content (social media posts, newsletter articles, website articles).

If you love deep conversations and have a knack for turning ideas into amazing content, this might be the role for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As my thought buddy and ghostwriter, your key responsibilities are:

• Conversations & Idea Development
  • Ask probing questions to get the best insights out of me (I find that I have the best insights when someone asks me intelligent and probing questions rather than when I’m sitting in front of my laptop being forced to type)
  • Contributing to brainstorming sessions and idea generation
  • Helping refine and challenge existing concepts
• Ghostwriting
  • Turning the conversations we have into
    • Newsletter articles
    • Compelling social media content
    • Engaging articles for our website
    • And more
  • while maintaining my written ‘voice’ and ‘style’
• Manage my idea pipeline
  • Organise and maintain a “second brain” system for ideas and content
  • Identifying key themes and topics to explore
  • Suggesting new content opportunities and formats
  • Communicating with the wider team to update them on the content you’ve created and how they can use it

Requirements

• Based in Hong Kong (or already planning to relocate here)
• Native English writing and speaking abilities
• Excellent interviewing and conversation skills
• Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities
• Exceptional writing and editing capabilities
• Ability to write in my voice and style
• Strong organisational and project management skills
• Ability to work closely with me in person every day
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated with a growth mindset

Nice to Haves

• Background in personal development, psychology, or related fields
• Familiarity with YouTube content creation and strategy
• Experience in content strategy or editorial planning
• Knowledge of social media content creation
• Previous ghostwriting or editorial experience
• Experience with note-taking and knowledge management systems

Important Notes

• This is an in-person role, and you’ll be working directly with me in Hong Kong (Happy Valley / Causeway Bay area), typically from 9am-5pm (ish) on weekdays.
• You should be comfortable with occasional contact outside of standard working hours if needed.
• Once a quarter, you’ll join me in flying to a random place in the world for a team offsite (all expenses paid, of course).
